It’s always a pleasure to be in The State of Things, where when I’m on, I usually talk about regional business trends. Not today. It was that other topic I know a little about — saints and saint making. Host Frank Stasio did a great job with the questions during the 10-minute interview. Here’s the link. Hope you like it.

The Monti is a new organization in the Triangle region of North Carolina that “brings personal narratives and good old-fashioned storytelling to lives audiences.” This organization is the brain child of Jeff Polish of Durham. His first two events have been SRO, attracting more than 100 paying customers.

His third event is next Tuesday, July 22, at Spice Street in Chapel Hill. Tickets, $7 apiece, went on sale today. I’m lucky enough to be among the storytellers next week. Details are here. Jeff predicts another sell out.

Frank Stasio, host of The State of Things (WUNC, 91.5 FM), is not only a second-generation Italian-American, he is also a diligently recovering Catholic. No wonder we had so much fun talking today on the program. A sound file of our interview is online.
